Castle Howard - Restoring a Piece of Britain’s Heritage
Introduction
In August 2006, we were engaged by Castle Howard Estate Ltd. to advise on the re-development of their Grade I- listed gatehouse into a 50-room luxury boutique hotel.
The Site
Located in North Yorkshire, England, Castle Howard is one of the country’s grandest estates. It was the setting for the screen adaptation of Evelyn Waugh’s celebrated novel, Brideshead Revisited.
Our Assignment
Our challenge was to identify a developer and hotel operator capable of creating a hotel at par with the quality of the estate. We produced an information package, contacted a selection of well-regarded groups, and attracted four firm offers for our client.
